The man who brang back rockabilly!!!!




JW-When did you hear your first rockabilly song?RW- I guess it was "Rock Around The Clock" by Bill Haley and His Comets in 1958.

JW-How did you feel about the music? RW-I loved it!!! I loved Rock'n'Roll / Rockabilly / Rhythm & Blues from the very beginning!!!

JW-When did you get into the vintage/western clothing?RW- When I got my first pair of LEE RIDERS Authentic Cowboy Pants blue jeans in 1959!!!!


JW-Where did you meet Ray Campi? RW-In Hollywood. He was listed in the telephone directory. I soon rented him a room in my house.

JW-Where did you meet Jimmie Lee Malson? RW- At the record collectors swap meet. He was only 14 years old, very small and skinny, and carrying under his arm huge 78 rpm records of Ronnie Self,Muddy Waters, etc. This raised my curiosity and so I talked to him and told him about my Hollywood Rock'n'Roll Fan Club and Rollin' Rock Magazine.


JW-Where did you meet Johnny Legend? RW-At all the Rock'n'Roll Revival shows of the early 1970s.


JW-Why did you start Rollin' Rock Records? RW-To promote and re-popularize the Real American Rock'n'Roll, Rockabilly and Rhythm & Blues Music. JW-Who was the first artist you recorded? RW-Gene Vincent, then Jimmie Lee Maslon, then Ray Campi, then ChuckHiggins, then Mac Curtis, then Jackie Lee Cochran. JW-Was it hard to start you're own record company? RW- To start it was easy. To run it much harder.


JW-What artist are you going to record in the future? RW- Dragstrip 77, Mac Stevens, Johnny & The Blades, Narvel Felts hopefully,and the Shuffle Aires and....... Check out the New Releases of Rollin' Rock Records to see what Rockin' Ronny Has Out for us to rock to!
